Health and Presence

When Hydra is configured in service mode it automatically records machine and application level information in the designated Redis server. In addition, Hydra sends presence information. In the unfortunate event that the host application crashes then Hydra would naturally stop updating presence information.

Additionally, Hydra maintains an internal log where it stores issues it detects. We can think of this as a black box flight recorder.

While all of this happens automatically, your application can augment the information stored by using Hydra'ssendToHealthLog()method. You can also retrieve the log using thegetServiceHealthLog()method.

Remember you can also directly receive these log entries as they occur by registering a log event listener during service registration.
